Speaker 1:

Ready, ready. Hey everyone, welcome back to the latest episode of Snitchin' it's your host, kristen.

Speaker 2:

And Brittany, get ready for the best part of your day.

Speaker 1:

It's Monday, labor Day, september 1st. Happy Labor Day. Happy September Britt.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's actually a happy Monday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, wow, yeah. This might be one of the only happy Mondays that we can truly be happy about. That's a great take. Yes, one of a few and it's really like starting to feel like fall here in New England the time the seasons Unseasonably cool.

Speaker 2:

I love it. I mean.

Speaker 1:

I love it too, yeah, we needed a break from the heat. I hate complaining about the summer weather, but it's been like beautiful out here, so I hope everyone's enjoying the weather. For those of you who are in the area Also, college football is back baby.

Speaker 2:

Although for football.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited for football.

Speaker 2:

How's.

Speaker 1:

Clemson Not so hot. We had our first game on Saturday against LSU. They were ranked fourth, lsu was ninth and we lost. So not a great start to the season. Our offense was trash. Didn't look good at all. So we'll see how ranked fourth.

Speaker 1:

That's pretty good, yeah, I know I mean well, and alabama lost, which just it's always a good day when Alabama loses, so that was a plus. I don't know, I think because they lost to a number nine team like potentially they could still be ranked. But you know, just not a great way to start the season, wasn't a great showing. But that's okay. What can you do, bummer?

Speaker 2:

Also, at least the weather is like San Diego. At least the yes, this is, at least the yes, this is san diego weather. We can have this all the time.

Speaker 1:

I want to live somewhere where I take this weather for granted seriously, not somewhere where I am like stressing over being outside, because I have to enjoy the few days that we have yeah, for those who might have missed it, on an earlier episode, britney and her husband chris went to san diego and the big thing that was taken away from that is that San Diego, no humidity, the land where people don't sweat.

Speaker 2:

No sweating.

Speaker 1:

I mean.

Speaker 2:

Gina.

Speaker 1:

Gina would love that. Gina would love that. I mean, who wouldn't? I'm a sweaty Betty too.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, who wouldn't want to not sweat?

Speaker 1:

But anyway, so I mean, hey, like this is, we're in the no sweat season. Let's look at it that way. We're not in fall, we're not headed towards winter, we're in a no sweat season and we're here for that.

Speaker 2:

I guess, but it's a. It's a tricky balance of like not stressing yourself out, trying to enjoy these last few months of being able to go outside.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean we're just. We got to just live for the. This is very like, but we just got to live for today, britt.

Speaker 2:

I know it's so hard, it's so hard.

Speaker 1:

Well, I have a gripe that I need to just say really quickly, and I'm hoping that this catches the attention of someone who works at the New York Times. Oh, I feel like I know what this is. My morning routine is blissful I wake up and I do all of the New York Times crossword games the Wordle, the Connection, all of them, there's like 10. They are now putting three of those games mini crossword, letterboxed and tiles behind a pay gate and I am pissed.

Speaker 2:

Tiles. What are we going to do without you?

Speaker 1:

No, I literally like it's screwing me up. And then I wake up and I realize that we don't have those games and I'm immediately irritated.

Speaker 2:

I got it. That is so sneaky. That is so sneaky of.

Speaker 1:

New York.

Speaker 2:

Times. It's so annoying Because they're totally trying to do it like the people like you who, like, this is their daily routine and it's like, okay, now I have to pay five bucks a month to do my daily routine and you're like, oh fine, you know.

Speaker 1:

No, spend $5 willy nilly on, literally like anything, but it's just the principle. I just don't want to pay for the subscription. Yeah, although I will say if I did. I also listened to the daily, the New York times podcast, and the thing about the daily is that if you don't listen to it, like on the day that it's released, it's only available for a few days before it's behind a pay gate. So this would also unlock.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I forgot about that, about the daily yes.

Speaker 1:

So it's very well like there is value in this $5 a month. I just feel like something was taken from me because it was available to me for free before.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and that's like not cool because New York Times has advertisers up the wazoo, so they should be able to let you have your games at least. People that were like it's part of their daily routine, like if you join now, maybe you you have to pay totally.

Speaker 1:

Can I get grandfathered in? I'm like a number one player, right like.

Speaker 2:

I'm the top of the charts every week i'm'm in the Spotify 1%.

Speaker 1:

If there was a Spotify ranking 1%, I'm there. I'm always playing. Doesn't that count for something? I mean on the flip side of that, it's like I'm their number one audience, so like I should be paying for it. Like I am, I'm mostly.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, they're like, we can easily get you to pay.

Speaker 1:

Like I'm right on the cusp of subscribing and I probably will, but I'm just not thrilled about it. My sister texted me too. She's like can you get the mini crossword? I was like no, it's.

Speaker 2:

That is a good like I want to start. I want to do more of that.

Speaker 1:

Like it is good morning routine though, to like get your brain going oh, totally Like, yeah, right after I'm done, I'm ready for the day I'm woken up, I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2:

I was. When I was in maternity leave with Tyler, I got really into Sudoku. Yeah, I haven't touched it since then.

Speaker 1:

Brittany. They have a Sudoku, they have two and they have three levels of it?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I would. Oh, I'm not very good. I would be on one, yeah, but yeah, I mean my brain, my like with work and my children. I spend enough brain power there.

Speaker 1:

Girl, totally, yeah. Yeah, I need something to wake me up. But anyway, that's my grievance for the week, but it's okay. You know what? New week? New me and most likely New York Times.

Speaker 2:

New season.

Speaker 1:

New month, New month, All of the things I'm doing. I don't know if I told you this actually I'm doing Sober September. I'm doing I don't know if I told you this actually I'm doing sober September. So I just had a boozy August. I felt like I spent a lot of money on alcohol. I'm also, like, so close to my goal weight and I just know that if I, like you know, lock in for September, I'll get there. So yeah, it's, it's going to be a sober September for your girl.

Speaker 2:

I feel like September is a bad month to be sober. It's like the most beautiful month of the year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know. I just I don't know. I can tell that I'm I can do it, though Like I just feel. I just feel like I got to do it. So yeah. I mean I feel like October honestly would be harder for me because I love, like, pumpkin beer and I don't really have a lot going on in September. So I just feel like it's very doable for me right now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess the pumpkins are allowed now. We went to Wardsbury Farm yesterday with Gina and Bill and they had like all the pumpkins out. I was like, no, no pumpkins, it's still summer.

Speaker 1:

Wardsbury Farm is like what a gem Was that there when we were kids?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know if they had like as much like all the food places, but yeah, my family used to go to Wardsbury Farm.

Speaker 1:

Wardsbury Farm again any Massachusetts people. It's this cute little farm that's really close to yeah, it's in Sharon, really close to where we grew up. It's on the side of Sharon. That literally was a 10 minute drive from my childhood home. I never went there before, ever, until last month I went with G2 and never had been. It's so cute. Yeah, it is so cute.

Speaker 1:

It's free for you know, if you guys want something to do with your kids, they've got like a great market. I was, you know we didn't have time to like go shop shop, but the food there looks awesome. They had really great flowers. They have like pigs and chickens. They have like a trampoline thing you could do berry picking, berry picking yeah, it was awesome. So, yeah, shout out to them. But anywho, for today's episode we have two big things. We're going to talk about. Sabrina Carpenter dropped her new album last week Man's Best Friend. We've listened to it. We're going to give our review and then, as always every Monday, we're going to talk about the latest episode of the summer. I turned pretty, this was episode eight and we also, at the end of the episode, are going to announce our September book club pick. So stay tuned for that. But yeah's best friend, the new album. I think it's her seventh studio album.

Speaker 1:

I want to say yeah, I know oh wow, yeah, I would have guessed like three no, I'm pretty sure it was the seventh one, but but anywho, I mean I don't know where to start what. I guess what's like your overall take on the album I mean I like it.

Speaker 2:

I I think like I totally like her, like funny, cheeky, like vibe, like I get it like the song. It's like the song sound one way, but she's like actually saying something else and whatever. Like I think that's cute and I think that it's. I like how she really leans into it, like that's her brand, you know totally I like the song tears.

Speaker 2:

I think that's my early favorite. But I still kind of feel like they all and I hate giving this criticism because I'm always like whenever people say this, I'm like you just need to listen to the album more. But I feel like they all sound the same.

Speaker 1:

No, I mean, I hear you, I think. Well, first off, I totally agree, like I love, and she said in an interview before the album was released that it's not for the pearl clutchers and she was correct. This right, right, it is. So there's so many sexual innuendos on this album. But I totally am with you, like she's in on the joke and she's funny. The album is funny and also I do think tears is definitely a standout and that's her second single I saw that.

Speaker 2:

I saw that she released a video after I like, after I'd already listened to it and decided it was my favorite did you watch the video?

Speaker 1:

I did watch the video.

Speaker 2:

It's a reference to the Rocky Horror Picture Show oh, okay, I figured there was like something like that yeah, it's, it's not.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I don't know that movie, so I just read that it was a reference. But I will say one of the takeaway. It's kind of like she's like basically going into like a haunted house type of deal and then there's a bunch of drag Queens in there. Coleman Domingo is like basically guiding her throughout the house and it's just kind of like wacky and there's a lot of different dance breaks. I will say she looked phenomenal in that video oh yeah, she looks. Great, yeah, she looks great for sure.

Speaker 1:

There's a part where she's kind of in like a lingerie set and she's dancing on a pole. She's just doing a lot of dancing in general and that was like my takeaway. I was like, damn, Sabrina, you go, girl, You're killing it.

Speaker 2:

I just felt like I enjoyed the video. I thought it was entertaining.

Speaker 1:

I just didn't think it really went with the song. Yeah, I agree it didn't have anything to do with the song, but, yeah, otherwise I thought it was fine. Yeah, yeah, I like my first go around listening to it. My mouth just dropped open so many times. Like the first time I listened to tears I was like, oh my god, is this what she's talking about? Like. So I almost feel like I kind of miss the beat and like all of that and the production behind it for a lot of the songs the first go around, because I was just looking at the lyrics, which I do think are like part you know, probably like my favorite part of the album Overall.

Speaker 1:

My take, though, is that it's a little underwhelming. I love yeah, I love short and sweet so much I don't think I love this album as much. I also think I hate to say, cause I love Sabrina, but half the album, I think, is like a skip for me. Like it's very clear to me which ones are my favorites and I kind of feel like, even for those, I'm just going to burn through them pretty quick. Like I feel like I'm going to listen to them a ton this week, maybe next week, and I think I'm going to kind of be like onto the next, yeah. So that's kind of my like overall feeling on it. But the ones that I love agreed with you. Tears super catchy. I also love House Tour.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I like that one too. It's cute.

Speaker 1:

House Tour is so funny. I feel like I'm in like an 80s aerobics class, like when I heard it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I like how like did. Did you notice like on Spotify the little videos playing? It's like shot in like a? It looks like it was shot like the 70s, oh cool no yeah, like the album cover is like that, but you don't really pick it up as much with the album cover. But yeah, like it, like they made it look like it was like an old camera very cute even in that song when she says never enter through the back door.

Speaker 1:

I was like Sabrina girl and then I also love go go juice.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, is that when she's like I'm getting drunk and like no one's safe? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that one's funny.

Speaker 1:

It's like when she's like sipping on my cocoa juice. I think it's so fun to sing that one's hilarious. Hilarious Also on. That one is so funny because, like at the end of it it's she's kind of doing like the ba-da-da-da-da and it's getting progressively more drunk sounding and she like she's like, should we hook sup? I'm like I just love it. It's so funny. Oh, I didn't even notice that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I like. Well, the other one I like was sugar, something sugar talking that one.

Speaker 1:

That one was okay. That's not. That didn't blow me away. I think I wrote about it like it was fine oh also, oh also, nobody's son.

Speaker 2:

So like that one, it's like saying how like he has such a bad mom because it's like such a bad kid and like as a mom with two boys I was at first my first reaction is like that's spot on, it is the mother's fault If the son is like mean to women, like that's, that's a bad mother. But then a few minutes later I was like wait a second though. Where's like the, the dad's accountability and all this like if anything. I feel like boys mirror how their dad treats their mom rather than like what their mom tells them, how their mom tells them to treat women yeah, yeah, no, that's a great call.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, where's the dad? Right, like I never. I never thought of that. Yeah, but I feel like it's more just about the boy, because she's just like but yeah, I totally hear what you're saying, like it's just one of those gender role things that like sneaks by you.

Speaker 2:

It's like the wheels on the bus thing, yeah. So the dads say I love you and the moms say shh yeah any.

Speaker 1:

I'm sure parents out there know this. The wheels on the bus, the version, whatever it is on YouTube or like the main version, it's all of them. Yeah, it's all of them, it goes. The wheels on the bus. It's like the mommy's on the bus go and the daddy's on the bus because I love you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like, and they give a hug. It's like what the hell? I feel like that's because they added the daddy's later. Yeah, true, but still can we, but still like, the dad should have been on there the whole time, like the mom's not the only one that takes her kids on the bus.

Speaker 1:

Dads are on the bus.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like where's the dad?

Speaker 1:

No, totally that's. If that's totally fair, take on nobody's son. What did you think of the one? I loved this one too. This might be my fourth favorite. When did you get hot?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I liked that one too.

Speaker 1:

That was cute. That one was really cute. And who is Devin?

Speaker 2:

Can someone look into who Devin is? I know, oh yeah, so that's the other thing, isn't this whole album?

Speaker 1:

supposed to be kind of like a breakup album. Definitely, definitely. Who's it about? I think it's Barry Keegan. Who's that? Let me see, that was her boyfriend last year. They were together like when she was touring the Short and Sweet album, oh yeah. Oh yeah, he'll he'll, he's gross.

Speaker 1:

Sorry they were, and she said that she started writing this like right, basically right after short and sweet was released, cause she was going through a lot. So it seems like a lot of this album, like we almost broke up again. Nobody's son never getting laid All of those my man on his willpower is about. It seems to be that it's about their relationship.

Speaker 1:

My man on his willpower is about it seems to be that it's about their relationship. There was one part that alludes to that is in the song go go juice. There's something about, like she talks about calling up either Larry John or the one that rhymes with villain, and people are thinking it's a rhyme scheme Larry AKA being Barry John, aka being Sean Mendez, because they were rumored to be together, and then villain being Dylan O'Brien because they were also rumored to be together.

Speaker 2:

I thought I caught that. I was like, I feel like that means something.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I didn't know what. The only other one that I wanted to say something about was the song Goodbye. Oh yeah, I like how she says all the different languages me too and I like the end, when she's like she says something like on the flip side, cheerio, and then she's like, yeah me and more wait, no, yeah, that is the only one on the album like, solely written by jack antanoff oh really, yeah, not her, because I was actually looking, so she didn't write that one no, that's the only one.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, yeah, when I was reading, when I was looking on Apple Music, that's the only one that's credited. Written by Jack Antonoff, just him.

Speaker 2:

Oh, interesting. Yeah, that's good writing. I did notice that Jack Antonoff produced all of them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I guess it was him, and then two other people that also were on Short and Sweet, amy Allen and John Ryan, who I don't know, but they were big on the last album. They also said that this one sounds a little different than Short and Sweet because I guess Jack Antonoff brought in the band members from Bleachers and they did a lot of like just live playing in the studio when they were recording. So they want it to sound like almost like a live album, which, yeah, I thought that was like a little fun fact.

Speaker 2:

I didn't totally pick that up, but I don't know something about. It just seems to me like I keep picturing, like in the Barbie movie, you know when they all come out and like dance to the Dua Lipa song.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Like I just feel like that's going to happen with like this, like line of women like doing some, like dance and all singing at the same time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, so maybe we should well. What are then like your top three?

Speaker 2:

I mean it's hard. I feel like this is still like early, like it's hard for me to review an album so quickly. But probably tears sugar talking. Well, actually I like go-go juice and house tour too, and I do like when. But probably Tears Sugar Talking Well, actually I like Go Go Juice and House Tour too, and I do like when.

Speaker 1:

Did you Get Hot? That's fair. That's a top five.

Speaker 2:

I think that was four. But yeah, House Tour Go Go Juice, Sugar Talking Tears. And when Did you Get Hot? Oh yeah, and when Did you Get Hot? Yeah, that's my fifth.

Speaker 1:

I think honestly, that's like pretty much mine too. I think Tears Besides Sugar Talking, that one's not in my top five. But Tears Go, Go, Juice.

Speaker 2:

House Tour. When Did you Get Hot? And I think Never Getting Laid. Yeah, I see I feel like her. She's a very much like a playlist, like song artist, not like a like. I'll listen to her songs if they're like on a playlist, but I'm not going to like listen to her album start to finish very often.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I, I totally hear that. I mean I definitely was listening to short and sweet a lot like the full album. I don't think I probably will on this one, but I I do love house tour. I love singing that one in the car. I love singing go-go juice in the car and tears. So I feel like those. And when did you get hot? So I think those four are like going to be in my rotation. But I mean half the album is is kind of like a whatever for me. I never listened to I mean it's only been out for a few days but I was listening to it a lot this weekend like in my car and I skip. Don't worry, I'll make you worry. That one's like whatever I don't really listen to. Nobody's Son I don't listen to. We Almost Broke Up. Sugar Talking my man on His Willpower is I could take that one. Yeah, that one's okay, it's okay.

Speaker 2:

That one's okay, but yeah, yeah, I mean, it's crazy, it's only 12 songs. I feel like the first time I listened to it I was like whoa, that's quick and that's going to be Taylor's album, so we should prepare ourselves for that.

Speaker 1:

I know that's true, it's only it's less than 40 minutes the full album. I know.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I feel like I like flew through it and I was like whoa it's already over.

Speaker 1:

I don't want my first impression of life as a showgirl to think it's short, so preparing myself now. Yeah, I'm gonna be short, swifties get ready, but it's going to be gold, you know it. Should we go to the summer, I turn pretty. Yeah, let's do it, let's do it. I mean I can start. I think this episode for me is the episode that belly's getting called out, and I'm here for that. I've been waiting for people to like call out belly's behavior because I feel like a good point. No one does and everyone did this episode. I mean in some form, like conrad in the beginning, jare, even taylor, taylor, yep. I think the part of the episode that I was most pissed is when taylor said to belly on her wedding day like I don't think you should do this. And then belly just like lashes out at her and says like I wouldn't, take advice from you.

Speaker 1:

Blah blah. I was like belly, like yeah, don't care, you should do this. And then, belly, just like, lashes out at her and says like I wouldn't take advice from you.

Speaker 2:

Blah, blah, blah, I was like belly, like yeah, don't get on. It's been the best friend, Even like Chris noticed that.

Speaker 1:

Yes, taylor's such a real one. She's always there for belly and I saw some takes online where people were like why Taylor say that on her wedding day? Let's not forget, at this point the ceremony is happening in like an hour and Jarrah Jeremiah is nowhere to be found, so I don't think it's that crazy that Taylor's like hey, this might not be the best choice right now, like clearly you guys have problems.

Speaker 2:

I feel like that's being a good friend, cause that's like the harder route 1000%.

Speaker 1:

So I was so mad when belly went off on taylor just because I I stand taylor. But then I was so happy when, when steven came in and like defended taylor too and he yeah he also called out belly. So yeah, he did too props to steven.

Speaker 2:

She got what she deserved. But my I was like, while I was watching was like I feel like my overall reaction is going to be the same, which is Belly's a bitch and Taylor's like the best friend ever Yep, staying on track, and like I was getting so mad that she was like getting so mad at Conrad. It's like, oh, I know, like I don't know, like I mean, I guess like he shouldn't have been like professing his love for his brother's fiance or whatever right before their wedding, but like, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I feel like we're past that point well, and I like, when he called her out because, yeah, she was getting so mad, she's like you're heartless, you're sick, you're playing with people's emotions and he's like you're heartless. Like I said this because I could tell she could. He could tell that she was feeling it too. She is not little miss innocent. In that bathroom when he had that cut she was clearly vibing with him. That was not in his mind. So I was so happy that he stood up for himself a little bit. And then also too, like when jare, when her and jare break up and he tells her about the you know the christmas, oh, he found out, yeah, right, right. And she was like oh, that's why you picked a fight with me and that's why you cheated. It's like no belly. You lied like can, yeah, can you take some accountability once for this? Like this is on you.

Speaker 2:

You know, I can't believe jeremiah never brought it up to her.

Speaker 1:

I know, and I think this leads to like my second big takeaway, which I think it's not even a takeaway, everyone feels this way. But like, regardless of how you feel about Conrad, it's so obvious that Belle Belle and Jer shouldn't a be getting married but maybe shouldn't even be together. Yeah, the fact that he knew about the cheating or whatever knew that belly lied immediately, cheats on her to get back at her, and then never, they, they both never bring it up and then he just like proposes to her. It's so clear to me that he just proposed to her because, like, partly, he just doesn't want Conrad to have her, like he just wants to beat Conrad, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean I was kind of proud of Jeremiah for breaking up with her, like and that's the thing he's not like a bad guy. Like I could see him being great with like another girl, you know what I mean. Like I think he could find another girl and be like a great boyfriend to her. Totally. I just think it's like them. That doesn't work as well.

Speaker 1:

But I don't know. I like Jeremiah and you know the fact that, like a few episodes ago, they're trying to move into a place he has shit credit, she, you know he just doesn't get it. He's in like la la land and then like when he drops on her at the rehearsal dinner that he's taking a new job and like finishing school online without talking to her.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's true, that's annoying. It's like what are you Come? Oh, like Conrad was the one that got Susanna's ring for belly, not Jeremiah. Oh yeah, Like there's so many, they shouldn't be getting married, you know.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I know, but yeah, it's like I would like to see him with someone else, but I think he needs someone more shallow, yeah, if.

Speaker 1:

I'm being honest, I know I mean I did feel bad for him that. The fact that like the minute she told him that conrad confessed his love, that he was like, okay, so are you leaving me for him? Like he clearly there's like he's so insecure about, yeah, I felt, yeah, I felt bad about that. But like, don't just bail on your wedding day I know, I know well.

Speaker 2:

That's why it's like they shouldn't be getting married. They're too young, and like he wants to be able to sign up for a job and not have to like tell his significant other as like you should be when you're like 21 or whatever. They are right. So I feel like he's like realizing like whoa, maybe we shouldn't be doing this too. But I think we're like pretty much. I I actually googled like what happened at the end of the book because it was bothering me. I was like is this? When the book ended, I don't remember, and I think it like kind of is I think like after this she does study abroad, and I remember this, like her and conrad don't get together till the epilogue yeah, well, but I I'm pretty sure that they've said that this show is not necessarily going to follow the book.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, well, it's seeming like it could right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

She's gonna be in paris next episode, so oh, I can't wait to see paris, but I hope belly doesn't annoy me in paris, I know I know same of course there had to be like a big um airport scene at the end okay, but can we just?

Speaker 1:

I like I didn't love that because because, even though all of it is so far-fetched, like this is almost I feel like almost annoyed at myself for saying this comment, because, like, who cares? But I just hate that like she happens to be at the gate next to him, like, first off, oh, I know, I know, I know, we know Logan Airport, there are it's an international terminal, like they would would not, that wouldn't happen.

Speaker 2:

I just was so like, oh, it's too convenient, you know, yeah, and he's going like to the west coast like there's yeah, they wouldn't be in the same terminal no, like, let alone in the gate next to each other, like yeah, whatever.

Speaker 1:

But I mean I get it.

Speaker 2:

You just kind of have to do it for the storyline one other comment, though, I will say I loved how they kind of like ended. They like nipped the bud with steven and what's that girl's name? Denise, denise. Yeah, like how they. I kind of liked the way they like ended it a little bit with them, like they kissed and they were both just like. I feel like that wasn't really good. Yeah, and now he knows for sure.

Speaker 1:

Now he knows. I kind of thought I was I wonder like why they really even did that, because it felt like kind of a random storyline. But I agreed, Like I feel like it helps set up for the fact that, like also Taylor knows, because Taylor's, I feel like Taylor was the one pushing Steven away and then she saw him with Denise and like I feel like it was good that she could finally say like I wasn't happy with that.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, it seems like it's kind of setting up for them to like get back together, realize their true feelings. And I like Denise, I don't hate that character. Same Right, so they'll keep her around.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and like now, her and Steven are going to go do their business. I wouldn't be surprised if, like this next episode or at some point, it's like flash for two years.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's a good call. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised by that either. Yeah, I had a couple of other thoughts, like though random, that I wanted to run by you. I'm curious what you think. You know what I was thinking about. Well, like in terms of, like the friend remember Conrad's friend from the first few episodes that like redheaded girl oh yeah, what happened to her? Is she a doctor girl? Yeah, yeah, what happened to her? She's just gone.

Speaker 1:

Like I'm okay with it I'm okay with it, but just kind of like a random, yeah, character to have. The other thing I knew that you would feel the same way too the fact that belly didn't know how she was going to wear her hair on her wedding day until like my god two hours before yeah, it's like come.

Speaker 2:

That's not how weddings work.

Speaker 1:

I was so weird and right. No one's like that, no one's like that and no one's getting ready like by themselves, like trying to pin their hair back.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That was the other thing I was like why aren't you guys like getting ready together and then they're like seeing each other, the bride and the groom, like before?

Speaker 1:

It was just weird, it was just weird, but I did like Belly's like wedding day, look when her and Jeremiah break up. I thought she looked. It was very simple but I thought it was so pretty.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I liked her dress. I didn't love her rehearsal dinner dress, that like drop waist one, but I it was okay. I liked the wedding one.

Speaker 1:

I agree, I like the wedding more than the rehearsal dinner. But damn, conrad looked so good at the rehearsal. I know dinner, but damn, conrad looked so good at the rehearsal. I know he's so like tan, oh, he's so cute, oh my gosh. And like the part when she's like. She says like I haven't looked over his way but I know where he is at all times. Everyone like knows that feeling, you know and you're just like yeah like so hyper aware of somebody in a room yeah, but what were the songs?

Speaker 2:

Oh, with or Without you, that was like a perfect song.

Speaker 1:

With or.

Speaker 2:

Without you. So good yeah. I was like, this is like spot on them.

Speaker 1:

So good. I also really liked they had a slower version of Friday. I'm in.

Speaker 2:

Love. Oh yeah, yeah, that was cool. It was really pretty. That was the girl that was on tour with Taylor.

Speaker 1:

Phoebe Bridgers. Yeah, so good. I think they also had Skinny Love, which, oh, I fucking love Skinny Love, I love that song. Yeah, it was really good. But what do you think of Cardigan as the song choice for the end? I thought it was okay. It was kind of weird, a little random, right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I wasn't like I hate this, I hated Robin, but it wasn't spot on, like Lommel, a little random.

Speaker 1:

A little random, I agree, but I mean, I'm still loving this season. I thought it was a really entertaining episode. I'm really. I can't wait for the next one and to see what happens.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited for the next three because I feel like it's been easy to kind of like, you know, you kind of predict, could predict what was going to happen up until this point.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree. So yeah, last piece of business, I guess should we announce the September book club. Oh, yeah, our book club.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we're going to do it on 9-26 and we're going to have Sammy back, our favorite bookworm discussion person, and we're going to do the Boys of Tommen, the one that Kristen wants to read. I cannot wait for this. Like literally immediately after when we finished, like the last book club, one texted me and Sammy, sammy, no pressure, but do you want to come on again? Like we can pick another book. I was like I know that she just wants to read this Irish boy in high school book. She just can't wait.

Speaker 1:

I'm not like this weird, like just I. But I will say I've grown a little bit out of it. But when I was, you know, maybe like five years ago, I, like any high school drama, I was always no own it. I feel like that's like niche to you. No, thanks, brett. Yeah Well, so okay, so we're. That's why we're reading this.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

I am too. The first one of the series is binding 13. It's Chloe Walsh is the author binding 13 boys of Tom and series. Thanks, sammy, for the recommendation. So excited. And what was the?

Speaker 2:

I definitely recognize the out like the cover. Once I looked it up, I feel like it's.

Speaker 1:

I hadn't, I'd never seen it.

Speaker 2:

Really no, I guess you're probably not in the book circuit as much as me, but yeah, on 9-26. And then we're going to yeah, maybe we'll give a little Ryder Cup update, because it's going to be that weekend. We're trying to figure out if we can get Taylor back on the pod, so TBD there. But yeah, that's what we got coming.

Speaker 1:

And Wednesday we'll have Bernie's brother on, and Wednesday we'll have Bernie's brother on. We're going to talk NFL and, yeah, we hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day.
