Speaker 1:

Ready, ready. Hey, everyone, welcome back to the latest episode of Snitchin' it's your host, kristen, and Brittany, get ready for the best part of your day Happy. Friday snitches we made it another week down.

Speaker 2:

Another week down. How was your?

Speaker 1:

week, britt, last couple days.

Speaker 2:

I mean, not much has happened since Wednesday. I did one little funny story. I went to the office yesterday and it was like cute I was, I was on a train, I get on at South Station, so I was waiting on the train to like go and go home and like this, two moms and like probably four or five little girls came on and they were all like probably ages like you know, seven to 10 or whatever, and like I was sitting in a seat and I was like oh, do you want me to move Because there was like so many of them. The moms were like we have been talking about who is going to sit where on this train home the entire day, like if they have it all figured out. I was like that is such a female thing, oh, my God, that screams yes, such a female thing.

Speaker 2:

Such a female thing and like, yeah, there was one girl who was next to me and her mom and she was all upset, blah, blah, blah, and it was just like I was like, wow, sometimes that's when I'm like, oh God, I don't have to deal with that with boys.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, they don't, they do not care.

Speaker 2:

Boys don't do that. Yeah, hilarious, it was funny, but then, yeah, but then I just blasted my music and I was listening to Megan's playlist and it is so good. Have you listened? Yeah, I've listened to a little bit, but not enough. Well, everyone should listen because it's just a great mix. It's a ton of artists. I feel like it's like a lot of songs, I know. Like you know, you don't want a playlist where you don't know any songs, right. So I know like a lot of the songs, but then it's also like a lot of artists, I know, but like songs I don't know and like, yeah, like there were some. I was like like Halsey. I was like, oh, I never really listened to her, she's good. Or like Lady Gaga, I'm like, wow, making, making a playlist is a skill, so props, megan.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, that makes me so happy. Shout out, cousin, she's definitely going to hear this. I'm seeing her later today actually, but she is. I mean, that's what I told you. She knows so much music, just like naturally. Yeah, and it's funny. I had a feeling when I told her, when I texted her to make that playlist, that she would love it and literally like an hour later she's like I'm loving this. She has like 17 questions. She's like okay, so what do we want for? Da-da-da-da? I'm like girl, you do you? Literally?

Speaker 2:

whatever you want.

Speaker 1:

There's no rules, no rules, no rules here.

Speaker 2:

But how was your day? How was the?

Speaker 1:

concert. Yeah, speaking of music, I went, which I mean, like Dizzy Up the Girl, I think that came out late 90s. That album, oh man, I listened to that so much when I was younger. Yeah, it did not disappoint. So Slide is probably my favorite Goo Goo Doll song, or it's like the one that I always default to and, not gonna lie, like that wasn't the best one. He was trying to really, I know it was a little bit of a disappointment, but it's okay. He was almost trying to like make it unique live, like he was not singing it in the same like cadence that it is on the on the record and like sometimes I like when artists do that they try to switch it up and, you know, do a little different live version, but it depends on the artist. Yeah, and the song and the song. But this is what we were talking about when we talked about how we went to the 98 degreesegrees Dream Ryan Cabrera O-Town concert and how it was epic. They didn't do that, like they know what the people want.

Speaker 1:

They want to see oh, they didn't sing the songs that people want. No, they did. I'm just saying, like the slide, they like changed it, you know.

Speaker 2:

Oh, oh yeah, and they people what they?

Speaker 1:

want. Yeah, like, let's give it the original version. That's what I'm here for. I want to sing along. So that was the only like blemish, I would say. But the rest of the show was awesome. They sounded really, really good and like just so many bangers um broadway. Do you remember broadway? Yep, oh, broadway. I hadn't heard that in so long.

Speaker 2:

Black Balloon I think my favorite is oh yeah, black Balloon's good.

Speaker 1:

Name I like Iris.

Speaker 2:

Name, I like name, I like Iris.

Speaker 1:

So good and he did like an acoustic name, so that was, that was cool, so yeah, so that was great. But then also I didn't realize that the opener was Dashboard Confessional.

Speaker 2:

Wait, that's unreal. I saw that on Instagram and I was like you didn't tell me that I didn't even know. That's like just as good.

Speaker 1:

I know. Do you remember when we went to see them in high school, we went to Rhode Island.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we went to Rhode Island, I don't remember where. I remember it was like a little theater. It was like a little theater Someone got engaged. Someone got engaged during one of the songs, like one of the big songs, I forget which one.

Speaker 1:

I will tell you which one Brittany, because I was brought right back to that moment, stolen.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I love Stolen.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my God, I forgot about that song. I know, I know the nostalgia was next level. The drive back the next day was a top tier drive back. I was sending it because, like, okay, I'm just gonna read you off some of the songs that you probably forgot about, or at least I forgot about I know I'm looking at dashboard on my spotify right now while you're, so go ahead stolen um that one vindicated oh, love that one.

Speaker 2:

It was on the spider-man soundtrack yeah, I know that one from the Spider-Man soundtrack because Connor likes that movie.

Speaker 1:

Great taste Hands down. That's like the classic. We know that one.

Speaker 2:

I feel like that was like their biggest right, that was their biggest.

Speaker 1:

Also. That was, like I think, their first. I looked up when that, because when I was listening to it in the car I looked up when that album came out. It was 2003. So cost of middle school, high school for us, but then also screaming infidelities, yeah, that was a big one. I totally spaced that one. So when they played that I was like, wow, there was also a few that they played like ghost of a good thing was one I recognized, but some like I just you. It was weird how that thing happens where you just automatically start singing because you know the song. You know like when you and you're like, oh, I know this, and you're singing the lyrics and I'm like what song is that? That happened so much. But okay, I know that you knew this one. When we were younger, on the way home they didn't play this, but do you remember the song as lovers go?

Speaker 2:

I feel like I know the name now, but I feel like I need to listen to it. How does it go Sing?

Speaker 1:

it. It's like this is easy as lovers go, so don't complicate it by hesitating no, okay, no, no, well, okay, run, don't walk after this to go listen to as lovers go. It's so good.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yay, I know Megan's got me all into. Like the artists, I know new songs vibe so yeah, that's right on track.

Speaker 1:

It's right on track. So yeah, it's going to be a musical weekend. But I was thinking, like the guy from Dashboard he's 50 years old and he looked Wow, I know, and he sounded really good and he was doing the full screaming, you know lyrics thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Speaker 2:

I mean they're probably hanging on. I don't know if they've come out with new music since 2007.

Speaker 1:

I don't think so. But I was saying to Apoorva I'm like this is honestly the best. This must be like the most fun tour of their lives, because it's like a victory lap. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Like they kind of know that they're on the back half of their career, like they're just it's fun. Now, yeah, that must be fun. I feel like that's a good gig too, cause they're probably just like can kind of do what they want and just travel around and have fun Totally. Wait, that's sick. I can't believe. You saw dashboard, I know it was it was.

Speaker 1:

It was so great, um, but speaking of music, another thing that we have to talk about and I know that you, because you texted me that you watched it last night oh, uconn, yes, so justin bieber's new uh music video for uconn is out and it's featuring his family, baby, baby, jack and Jack and Haley. What did you think? I thought it was boring as fuck.

Speaker 2:

I was like the song is only like it's a short song, it's only like three minutes, and like halfway in I was like holy shit, I'm only halfway through this, like is it over yet?

Speaker 1:

No, honestly same.

Speaker 2:

Like I mean, and I like that song song. It's right after daisy, so like I listen to it a lot and I like the song, um, but like when he was on the boat by himself doing like that those dance moves, they were like kind of intentionally bad. But I was like justin, what are you doing? You're like a great dancer, that's like one of your biggest strengths, but you're dancing like a. What are you doing, dude? He's like dancing like an idiot. I'm just like what are you doing? I don't know. I mean, and like the thing about like showing the kid. It's like I get it if celebrities like obviously you know we want to see the celebrities kid, but like I get it that they want to hide them, whatever. But like I feel like it's like then don't put them in the video at all, like don't put him in but have like blatantly like his face covered, like the part where, like hayley's holding him, there's like rain on the camera in front of his face.

Speaker 1:

It's like, not like tease but you know what I mean. I do know what you mean. I like I love a music video, but I want a production, a high quality production music video where there's like a plot and a storyline. Yeah, music videos that just are showing the singer singing it and like basically what this is, because so it's like black and white, they're on a yacht and yeah, it's like him dancing by himself in front of like the camera, but it's not like full dance moves, it's like little movements that are just kind of like whatever. And then, yeah, like shots of baby Jack's like body, but not his face, like Brittany said and Haley, but yeah, it's like there's no, like you're not following along to anything, so it just gets old quick.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I feel like it's like the video should kind of help you understand the song more. Yeah, and it didn't. Yeah, like what is that song about? No clue.

Speaker 1:

I know, well, it's so funny. You say that because I was listening to it and I'm like what is that about? I think it's like a love song, because he's saying, like what would I do if I didn't have you? You know, yeah, but yeah, I agree, not not my favorite video. I probably will never watch it again. That song is also interesting because the first time I heard it like it's one of those songs where the voice is so obviously edited, not like well, is it him? That's what I'm saying like I think so, I think so. I just think that they literally have like filtered the voice, so it's different.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, on apple music.

Speaker 2:

It would say if there was another vocalist, hold on because, yeah, like there's no one else like credited, like I feel like there's other songs where it's like featuring so-and-so, featuring so-and-so so like I would think they would say featuring so-and-so, but. And the other thing is, it's like if that's another person like justin bieber is barely in that song well, no, it says okay.

Speaker 1:

So apple music performing artists. Oh, this is interesting. So justin bieber is vocals. Guess who is background vocals credited on this song? It's an artist, two Chains, what.

Speaker 2:

Random, so random.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you know what, Also, now that we're looking at it okay, I had seen this before and I just forgot about it. I was looking at the producers on this album and Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, is credited for being a producer on this song. Oh, wow, I know, I looked it up. I think it's because they used. It was almost like remember when Olivia Rodrigo kind of sampled some of Taylor and Paramore's things.

Speaker 2:

Any Year's Day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it was a similar situation. I don't think he actually had any involvement in the true production, but that they just credited him. But yeah, wow, two chains didn't have that on my bingo card.

Speaker 2:

So it seems like he is singing. It's just like auto-tuned. Yeah Weird, he sounds like a girl it's.

Speaker 1:

I had the same thought. I was like this. And then I thought, well, the same thought, I was like this. And then I thought what would that sound like live? Oh true, yeah. How would they even sing it live? I feel like he wouldn't be able to. I don't know, but I will say. When I was watching this video, it is so apparent to me, these two, their love language, like justin bieber's love language, is physical touch. Every time that I see these two in the public, they're just like touching each other. 24 7.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, I guess. So, yeah, no, it's 100. Yeah, it makes sense, it makes sense yeah.

Speaker 1:

So now that you've like, we've had swag the album for a while, do you have any like? I feel like when we first talked about it, we both said we like da. We first talked about it, we both said we like daisies. Um, I remember we both said we like 405. I don't really listen to that one anymore. I don't listen to that one as much either.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I still listen to it what would you?

Speaker 1:

are there any like new favorites, that you've had some time with the album, or like what? What are some of the top ones now that we've had a few weeks?

Speaker 2:

I feel like butterflies has emerged for me. Britney, that one. Oh, you like that one too. Let's same girl. Same girl, let's go um. I still love daisies. Same um. Oh, I like the way it is. That's just the way it is.

Speaker 1:

You know that one so you know what actually, I don't love that one. That's a skip for me yeah, it's a little more like rappy yeah

Speaker 1:

um, and I like the first one still, and I, I like Yukon yeah, I would say right now, like Daisies is my first I go to, sometimes like so the first one on the album all I can take. I still like it, but, like a lot of times, I just go straight to Daisies and then I'll listen to Yukon Butterflies and then the other one that I love. It might be my top. I like it more than Yukon is first place.

Speaker 2:

Yeah oh yeah, I like that one too. I always forget about that one.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of like squished in the middle. Yeah, it's so fun, it's so fun to dance to, yeah, so I think the album is good. Oh, yeah, me too, I think I I've been like it's been in my rotation, like it hasn't really left since it yeah it's stuck around?

Speaker 2:

yeah, for sure. But yeah, make better videos, justin, just like more effort here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it took you four years to do this album. Let's you know, let's get some production value on these music videos we want to see Like what's? I can't remember any of his old ones. Oh well, sorry, obviously Sorry. Iconic, yeah, iconic, just do that. He's not even in it, he's not even in it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you don't even have to do anything, justin, where's the choreographer? Yeah, seriously, get those girls back, oh my God, get. Imagine if he did like another, like another one with them. That would be so good, oh my God.

Speaker 1:

Our heads would explode. You took the words out of my mouth.

Speaker 2:

Like our heads would explode. That that would be so fun yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

So I was sick on monday, like we recorded on monday, and then that rest of that afternoon I was just like out for the count, um, and tuesday I was still kind of like recovering too, and I feel like I've just been chronically online more than normal. I'm already online all the time. Yeah, I have I. Just I there's a few things I need to say and then we can go into it. So I have a new couple obsession. Oh boy, I just need to have everyone else be aware of this. If you're looking for a good new like scroll, look up Alison Brie and Dave Franco.

Speaker 2:

Do you know who they are? I know Dave Franco. He is so cute. Wait, I'm going to look them up right now. I don't know her.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so she's an actress. You would know her face. She was in Mad Men, she was in Community. I don't know if she's done any crazy movie.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I know she was in Mad Men. I don't see her. Mad Men's not coming up on her like movies and shows. Oh wait, no, it is. Yeah, I was gonna say like positive um, but who was she? I? Uh, trudy campbell, I only watched the first oh, I feel like that's not a big character but yeah mad men's like one of those shows that's not that good today, like it was good for the time but don't watch it today.

Speaker 1:

I feel like the first season was really good because it was just fun to see like what life was like at that time. You know like 50s.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they do a great job of like a period. It's a period piece for sure. Yeah, that that's the best part about the show.

Speaker 1:

Yeah but I think she was on it for a while like she was on the full eight years or something, but yeah, anywho. Oh, and then she was in that show on netflix glow. Do you remember that? It was like the wrestling show. Wrestling it was, yeah, but it was a. It was a fictional show. It was like she played a female wrestler, but it wasn't like true wwe or anything. And you watched this. I watched the first season. It was like it had some legs. People talked about it.

Speaker 1:

Um, but anyway, whatever floats your boat, I guess so okay, well, the reason that they're like the algorithm is showing me them, is they're promoting this new movie together, called together. I think it's's called Together and it's like a horror film, they're in it, they're both in it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they play this codependent couple that it's I mean, it's a horror movie. So their bodies, like they like meet each other and then like eventually they start like fusing together. I don't know, it's not a movie you and I would watch, doesn't sound like it? No, definitely not. But although they have said on I've heard them say this like a couple of times that a lot of people who are watching it are like thinking kind of say that it's a gateway movie into the genre because it's for horror junkies it's got what you want there, but that it's also very much like a rom-com, kind of like it's about this couple that's in love.

Speaker 1:

So you know that's a pitch that's got me you know, that's a pitch that's got me.

Speaker 2:

I'm like halfway I might watch it. Yeah, I mean I can. I can respect like a horror movie that has like a good you know mystery to it or something sure, yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 1:

For me I, if you're gonna say it's like a rom-com, I'm already, oh yeah, 40 percent more invested. Um, yeah, that helps, that helps even more 1000. But they're doing a lot of press together and I just gotta say they are so in love, Like this couple is so in love Every single time that they're talking about one another. It is so like loving. And then also he went on, Dave Franco went on Call Her Daddy, which I listen to, and he was just like every single time he brought her up I was just like melting.

Speaker 1:

So he said that like, um, how people. He's like I hate when people ask me, like, how do you work with your wife? He's like because I love working with my life. And he's like I will spin out when I'm like. He's like I wish I could work with her and everything, Because, like, if I'm directing or from acting, it's so easy to like get insecure and spin out. And, like every time I'm working with her, she just like helps me and reassures me. I know that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

Alex Cooper was like who would you put in your blunt rotation? Like, who would you want to smoke weed with? And he's like I hate to say it. He's like I love smoking weed with my wife. He's like that's awesome. You wouldn't know it because she seems pretty normal. But he's like every time we smoke weed, everything I do is just the best thing that she's ever seen. I'm just a husband, I'm just the best. This he's like it's the best thing ever, and then you'll, you'll love this. He said that when they met. So they've been together. I think they said 13 years. Um damn, apparently he's a huge cat, guy Brittany.

Speaker 2:

I love that Wait. Oh my God, I wonder if James is too Talk about knowing your audience.

Speaker 1:

I saved that nugget for last. He said when they met, he had two cats. When they met, they were huge. He said that they weren't like overfed, they were just disproportionately large cats. He said 18-pound cats.

Speaker 2:

Whoa See, I don't know anything about if that's a big cat. Actually, I think Harry's like probably like 16 pounds.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's going to be pretty big. Harry's big. But he said that when they started to date he spent a lot of time at her house and the cats were getting neglected and he couldn't have that. So then he had to ask her you know, can I bring the?

Speaker 2:

cats with me to your house so that we could spend time together. I knew it, I knew it Okay, I'm watching the movie I am in now Sold. Yes, I knew it. Yeah, any person that like any cat guy, especially guy like I'm all for it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, my gosh, all right. Well, I'm not going to say anything further. So go and look up Dave Franco and Alison Brie. I hope you guys get married and are together forever. You are so stinking cute and obsessed.

Speaker 2:

I wait. But one thing I just Googled him Cause I was trying to see like, what other stuff he's in. He's 40. I know she's 42. Oh, I thought he was like younger than us. I would have thought James was like 40 and he was like maybe our age.

Speaker 1:

Well, how old is like Jonah Hill. Look him up. Oh, I also found out on that episode that his best friend is McLovin in real life.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, I love that even more. I'm telling you, oh, okay, jonah Hill is 41.

Speaker 1:

I feel like that holds how old's James.

Speaker 2:

I love all those guys. I think they're so funny.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I had a big crush 47. Damn Wow, pushing 50,. James Franco, he looks good.

Speaker 1:

He looks good, but I feel like he does not have a great reputation.

Speaker 2:

No, I feel like I've heard that too.

Speaker 1:

I can't remember, like, why doesn't he have like drunk driving and stuff? I thought that it was something along the lines of when he was, like, um, an NYU professor, that there might've been some like misconduct happening with students. I just know that, seth.

Speaker 1:

Rogen was his big time collaborator. They don't. They don't work together anymore and I feel like they've distanced themselves. I remember at one point that's sketchy. Yeah, I had looked into it at one point. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I feel like he's had a bit of a fall from grace. But Dave Franco is pulling the weight for the Franco family because this boy is so sweet. I'm obsessed, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I feel like he's like a cuter, sweeter version of James 1000%.

Speaker 1:

Okay, Two more quick things. So I just want to say I saw Lindsay Lohan is also on the internet a lot right now because she's promoting the new Freaky Friday movie.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, and I she looks so good, she's got a lot of Botox going on, but other than that, a lot.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, no for sure, like her face doesn't move a lot. But other than that, OK, yeah, no for sure, like her face doesn't move a lot. But she looks so good and I just want to say like as a girl who was raised on Parent Trap and honestly mean girls, I'm happy to see it. Yeah, she is like a quintessential millennial quintessential millennial who had a fall from grace.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's not like amanda bines, but she recovered she's doing so well and I'm so happy about it, and she lives in dubai, and oh well, I wonder why she said part of the reason she loves living in dubai is because it's illegal to take photos of someone, anyone that you have to get their permission Like you cannot just take a photo of somebody, so she never has to deal with paparazzi or privacy. How do they enforce?

Speaker 2:

that.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. Well, you know what, though, when I was in Kenya um they my tour guide when they picked me up from the airport, they said like don't take photos on the street. Like if you take certain photos of like government buildings, or even if you don't even know what you're taking a picture of, but if it's in the background, like people will come up to you and you can't do that.

Speaker 1:

So it's just a cultural thing I think Interesting, yeah, so I saw that. And then the last thing I saw, and then I'm done, but and then I'm done, but this feels good. I mean, I've been holding this in.

Speaker 2:

Wait, I don't get why we had to go through so fast.

Speaker 1:

Well, I don't have much else to say about her other than I'm just so happy for her.

Speaker 2:

She didn't have a relationship.

Speaker 1:

I forget yeah she's a kid, oh she's married.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, she's a kid. Yes, she's like fully thriving, oh yeah, thriving, oh yeah. Children, one who's her? I, I didn't even know she had a kid do you remember?

Speaker 1:

do you remember the poker scene from the parent trap?

Speaker 2:

yeah, wait, I was that. It was at camp, right, yes, when they do the yeah, yeah yeah, and then they pierced her ears and then they pierced her ears and the camp counter that the camp counselor was janice from friends. Oh shit wait, I didn't even like I didn't even know that.

Speaker 1:

So that's her only other role yeah, but I feel like our generation saw that movie and like it made me want to go to camp. It made me a twin be a twin play poker. I thought it was so cool that these girls were like having a poker face off they had that handshake.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it was like with the butler or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was a cool handshake yes, do you like, if you could have picked the london life or the napa life, which one, hayley or I can't remember the other girl, ally? I think that's hard, maybe london, I think I'm going napa yeah, but oh, that's hard to pick. Yeah, it's a hard, it's a hard, hard pick yeah, and I mean also this is bringing it back to what we talked about the other day with liam neeson, because his late wife, natasha richardson, was the mom oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

so yeah, an iconic movie and yeah, mean Girls is iconic. Freaky Friday I feel like I wasn't as into, but I remember it being like big.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I definitely saw it, I definitely saw it yeah, I definitely saw it. Chad Michael Murray was in it.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I feel like there was a song I liked in it.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, wait, no, that's so true. Hold on on, because that's kind of when she was in her like music era oh, ultimate, oh yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2:

You're the ultimate, you wow, haven't thought about that song in over a decade wait, I'm definitely definitely listening to that later today.

Speaker 1:

Hilarious, put it on megan's playlist yes, for sure um, so what's the next thing? Okay, well, the next thing it's a taylor topic. So jake shane he hosts the podcast therapist. He kind of became big on tiktok. I love him. He's hilarious, um, but he's a huge like Taylor stan. And he had Selena Gomez on an episode of his podcast this week. She told a story about how her and Taylor they met because they dated Jonah's brother. Selena was dating Nick, yeah, yeah yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 2:

It was cute.

Speaker 1:

It was cute. The best thing they got out of their relationship was each other. But then I also thought it was interesting. She said that um, she remembers when they first started hanging out like they were in a hotel room and um Taylor played her, her new single, and it was love story oh yeah, I know I loved that.

Speaker 2:

I love that. Yeah, she like really, I mean Selena is definitely like the OG. Oh yeah, like, yeah, yeah, yeah, her best friend.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for sure, but it was really cute. She's been there from the beginning.

Speaker 2:

We were there too for the record.

Speaker 1:

Oh, 100%, we were paying attention to her then, and Joe Jonas, I mean, he did get some great jams like Forever and Always, Last Kiss.

Speaker 2:

And now she sends his baby's presents Yep.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, I know.

Speaker 2:

I, and now she sends his baby's presents, yep, so that's it. I know I thought that was so cute. I didn't realize that they became friends through the Jonas Brothers. I didn't know that, but yeah, I saw it was a video and it almost seemed like she was getting a little emotional, like talking about their friendship. It was so beautiful.

Speaker 1:

I love that. Yeah, so that's the internet roundup, and I thank you for letting me speak on all that, because yeah, anytime.

Speaker 2:

That's what we're here for.

Speaker 1:

That's what we're here for, but we do have actually like two topics, topics to talk about, Okay, Okay. First one is Matthew McConaughey came out with a well, I guess actually it was taken from an excerpt of a Titanic producer's memoir, so it was John Landau's memoir, the Bigger Picture and he talked about McConaughey's audition for the role. He said quote we brought him in to do a scene with Kate. You want to check for chemistry, not just how they look on film, but how they interact. He said Kate was taken with Matthew, his presence, his charm. He did the scene with a drawl. No, Sorry, no, it's okay. Because according to the book, after he completed the scene in the Texas accent, James Cameron said like that's great, but let's do it a different way. And then apparently the actor responded like no, that was good, Thanks.

Speaker 2:

What. He wouldn't do it without the Southern drawl. I mean Jack Dawson's supposed to be from like wisconsin or something I know, chippewa falls, chippewa falls.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, right, chippewa falls that's what.

Speaker 2:

Over yourself, matthew mcconaughey. Get over yourself. I'm sorry, but even like at that movie, like people knew when they were making the movie it was going to be huge.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean they were putting.

Speaker 2:

It was a huge director, huge cast, they were putting a ton of money into it and it's aged well. So who do you think you are being like? Yeah, no, james Cameron, I only do a Southern accent, fuck off.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, I was surprised when I read that too. I feel like that's a bold thing to say when you're auditioning for anything, and I guess he's come out. Matthew McConaughey has spoken about that audition. I didn't even realize that. He was like so far along in the process I had no idea. And, um, he said on to Rob Lowe during his podcast in 2021, he said that the audition he quote thought he really thought it was going to happen. And he says quote. So I read, I went in and read with Kate Winslet and it was not one of the auditions like hold on. So he said quote. So I went in and read with Kate Winslet. They filmed it. So it was like like into screen test time. And then he said after we left you know, it was one of those where they were like following me and we got outside and they were like that went great. I mean kind of like hugs. I really thought it was going to happen, but it did not.

Speaker 1:

He was never offered the role, thank god, yeah but I also thank god, no, I heard a similar story though we'll have to check this that, like jack, that leo didn't, almost didn't audition, like almost refused to audition at all. He was like you want me to audition?

Speaker 2:

I saw something that said that he was like he wouldn't read, like, uh, james cameron wanted him to like read the script or like read a part, and he was like, oh, I don't do that, which like doesn't really make sense. Like, how do you audition without reading the script? I don't know, that's a hollywood thing, I don't know. But he ended up doing it. Yeah, he did do it, totally, totally. Yeah, he's like I'm not a bigger deal than this producer in this movie. Like I, this is my job, I'm gonna be professional right, I mean, thank goodness he didn't get the part.

Speaker 1:

I, like matthew mcconaughey, I don't, I don't like matthew mcconaughey?

Speaker 2:

oh you don't why. Matthew McConaughey, oh you don't why. No, he's too manly and just no, he's just not my vibe.

Speaker 1:

Not at all.

Speaker 2:

He's not my vibe. Yeah too, like you know?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, totally.

Speaker 2:

I mean I liked him in how to lose a guy in 10 days yeah, well, that was like pre before he became all manly, like that was when he was like in his rom-com days. But then once he did true detective he was like you know, people thought he was so legit, which I mean I guess he was whatever, but like not your man, yeah, oh my god I just thank goodness he did not get jack dawson's role.

Speaker 1:

I mean that like and I guess kate winstead's even said, like I loved, loved my audition, but thank goodness it didn't happen, because obviously we wouldn't be where we are today yeah, yeah, I mean the chemistry is a very important part.

Speaker 2:

I feel like people underestimate how important like the chemistry between the main couple is, because I've there's been plenty of shows where I've been like I don't like this couple, like they just don't have good chemistry the actors- yeah, oh, that's so true.

Speaker 1:

I'm trying to think of like, oh, you know, perfect example of that. I mean now we know they hated each other, but it ends with us, um, justin baldoni and blake lively. It ends with us that movie.

Speaker 2:

Their chemistry was horrible oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, wait, I was mixing that with something else. Yeah, yeah, I agree, trash, um, I'm trying to think of other ones. I feel like there was like one I oh, bridgerton, the first season of bridgerton. Oh, you hated that couple. I didn't like her. Did Delilah or Daphne? I didn't like that season.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, I, I mean, it's definitely my least favorite season, for sure.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I didn't love the main couple in that.

Speaker 1:

I I liked them. I just didn't love the storyline because they got together I don't know. I felt like I was into it the first half of that season and then kind of fell off, whereas like seasons two and three, I mean honestly season two is the best season. Like, yeah, anthony, bridgerton. Anthony, I always say Anthony because that's how they pronounce it, but he's just the best Bridgerton boy. Yeah, he's so attractive.

Speaker 2:

Donathan bailey, love him yeah, um well, yeah, thank god for us. I wonder if that movie would I mean, probably still would have been really big, but who knows?

Speaker 1:

who knows, um, for me it wouldn't have been as big. Oh, definitely not. No, I, I can say that with confidence.

Speaker 2:

I mean like same yeah like 50 of the reason I like that movie is because of leonardo dicaprio yeah, no for sure it wouldn't have been.

Speaker 1:

It wouldn't have been the same. It's just interesting to even think about putting him in those shoes, but absolutely not yeah, go away, matthew mcconaughey for sure um, okay, last piece of news and then we'll wrap up for the weekend.

Speaker 1:

Um, some sad news. Kelly clarkson's ex-husband, brandon blackstock, died 48 from cancer. He had been. He died on august 7th. He had been privately facing cancer, uh, for three years, and a source tells people that kelly is devastated for her two children she has. She shares two children with him um, river, her daughter, who's 11, and then Remington, her son, who's nine. Um, they so they were together but then divorced in 2020 after seven years of marriage and, from what I always saw on the news, like it seemed like a really, a really nasty split. It's.

Speaker 1:

It seemed like um yeah, okay, that's what I thought.

Speaker 2:

I remembered.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like I don't have any like you know quotes or whatever, but I I definitely know, um, that there has been like a lot set between the two and I think there was like a big money battle. Obviously, now it feels like like when I was looking it up online, like there's nothing really talking. There's nothing about that in the news, obviously. But I do think that they had like a contentious relationship for a while, but she said, quote that she always wanted her kids to have the best relationship possible with her dad and that she's, you know, devastated for them. Also, I didn't realize this, but he's Reba McEntire's stepson.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's random. Yeah yeah, mcintyre's stepson. Oh, that's random.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, but this kind of makes sense because she so she postponed her Vegas residency this year to be with her kids. But there had been rumors earlier in this year that were like around March ish, that like something was up with her because she took two weeks off of her show. They were saying like she might be moving to Los Angeles and like quitting her show. Her contracts up next year. So people are kind of like wondering what's going on, like why, you know why. Now there seemed to be like some secrecy about it. But you know, now it seems like we know. Obviously she was helping support, like her family and her kid's dad. So sad news. Um, you know, sorry to Kelly Clarkson and obviously rip brandon blackstock, but yeah, yeah oh, so it was like people didn't know he had cancer that just came out, just yeah, no one knew.

Speaker 1:

And so and like yeah, she's came out I think I'm pretty sure it was march and she was like I'm struggling, like there was and you know the show, like we might something's going on with the show. So people were kind of like what's going on with her, you know? Um, I don't think it makes total sense total sense and I don't think anyone like suspected this. But yeah, um, I just I love kelly clarkson.

Speaker 2:

I feel like she's uh, she may be a snitch oh, she could totally be a snitch. Oh, oh, she would, we could, we could gab with her yeah, well, no, I mean, remember she like posted about something right after we talked about it, something very niche the tattoo, tattoo video yeah, and then she's saying it I know kelly oaky um yeah so that's a bummer

Speaker 2:

yeah I wonder if taylor would ever do a vegas residency um, maybe one day I could see that it just seems like that's what all like the biggest artists do, like it must be really easy, or they make a ton of money or something you know what they should do like?

Speaker 1:

why is it that vegas is the only place that has the residencies? She should do a nashville residency. Yeah, that would be cool. That'd be sick, like if she just played the same arena every single night.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, I don't know if Nashville could hold like the demand for that, though.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, there should be a some other city planner or something should think about this, like could you get a residency in your, in your city? I bet it would bring some people in like who like, okay, definitely like if boston were to do it, if we could get a residency for, like who's a boston-based singer, that people would just like always come out and see like a james taylor yes, ken Chesney, that's perfect. Like, if he just like posted up and did a residency here, he would probably still sell it out, like yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean people would go for the drinking more than the music, but yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1:

But you know, some of them think about food for thought. Yeah Well, that's all the time we have for today. Thanks, yeah Well, that's all the time we have for today. Thanks everyone for snitching with us.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:
